Overview
Brooke Thomas of Brooke Thomas Casting and Mary Egan Callahan of House Casting, casting directors in New York City, have been teaching an on-camera commercial intensive class since 2001 under the name "Brooke and Mary". At each class we work on-camera with commercial copy. At the final class we invite 2 commercial talent agents to watch you work, answer questions and give some feedback. Brooke and Mary also offer some tips on marketing yourself as a commercial actor.
Who should take the class?
Our classes fill up with everyone from unsigned, non-union aspirers looking to get into the business to established actors looking to improve and hone their performance techniques for commercial auditions. Please note that our classes are for students 18 and over.
What will you learn in the class?
You will learn how to bring out the best of yourself in a commercial audition. This includes tips, techniques, and personalized coaching on how to be comfortable reading commercial copy directly into the camera and making the copy your own by incorporating improvisation into your audition. You'll also learn a few do's and don't's in the realms of casting directors.
Where are the classes held?
Classes are held both on Zoom as well as in person at Big Home Studios in New York City.
What is the cost of the class and how do I pay?
The cost of the entire 3 night ZOOM class is $250.00. The cost of our 3 week in person class is $550.00 Please contact Brooke@BrookeandMary.com to inquire about our next class
Is there a wait list?
Our classes selll out very quickly. If we can't add you to our current class we will put your name on a waitlist and also inform you of any future classes.
What if I book a job and can't take the class that I registered for?
If you book a job or something comes up we will do everything we can to re-sell your seat. If you cancel 7 days prior to the start date we will gladly refund your payment.
